The New Jersey Collectors Convention is proud to announce that Boss Fight Studio will be attending the August 18th, 2013 NJCC toy show! Boss Fight is comprised of several former Hasbro designers and a sculptor who all worked on fan-favorite action figure lines like G.I. Joe, Star Wars and Marvel Universe.

It was also recently revealed (via their Facebook page, Boss Fight Studio) that Boss Fight was the studio behind several of the beautifully sculpted heads for the G.I. Joe FSS 2.0 that we have all been drooling over!!!

Designers Andrew Franks, Erik Arana, Catrina Cerise-Arana, and sculptor Dave Proctor will be on hand to meet fans and do some sketches. Don’t miss this chance to meet these former Hasbro Artists in their first public appearance as Boss Fight Studios!!!

Are you ready to join the Dark Side? the next New Jersey Collectors Con will be held on August 18th, 2013 – You herd it right, we are having a Summer Event. The theme of this show will be “World At War” featuring a very cool marketing campaign of unlikely Enemies & Allies with all of the Toy Brands we have come to love as collectors.

We will also be reaching out to more Star Wars and Marvel Collectors at the Next NJCC summer event, while keeping our already awesome Transformers and G.I.Joe focus. This will be reflected in both extra door prizes, above and beyond what we normally do, including THREE Mega Door Prizes. Over the next few weeks we will be announcing our special events and our guest list. We plan on making this the best NJCC to date, and hope this will make up for the lack of a Fall show that will be moving to Tampa Bay, Florida. We are not quite ready to reveal details of that event yet, but when we do we hope you will join is for the “Ride”.

Here at New Jersey Collectors Con the focus is on Collecting Action Figures! There are many other options for fans to attend shows but we like to think we present a unique event with the best toy dealers on the East Coast. Because our event is focused on the Toy Collector, we wanted to give back to the fans of our show by releasing the door prize schedule and the Mega Door Prize for the April 28th, 2013 Spring NJCC.

For those of you who will be heading out next week to the April 28th, New Jersey Collectors Con, we have a special display of G.I.Joe History heading out to us in the form of Joe Declassified. For those of you who have never seen their booth presentation, you’re in for a real treat.

In addition to publishing a newsletter, they have a “Traveling Booth” display that gets set up at Joe Conventions. Most of what is displayed is one-of-a-kind items, along with historic art, and unproduced and pre-production G.I.Joe items from all eras of G.I.Joe collecting.

NJCC 2013 adds Dan Khanna as guest Transformers artist. Dan started his Transformers career as a fan artist, creating commissioned drawings of Transformers characters and action scenes. He gained fame in the community, and has since become part of the creative team for the new Fun Publications-run Fan Club and conventions, illustrating and plotting Club & BotCon comics as well as designing heads and character mock-ups for exclusive toys.

Salvo is the G.I. Joe Team’s Anti-Armor Trooper. His real name is David K. Hasle, and he was born in Arlington, Virginia. Salvo was first released as an action figure in 1990 with the t-shirt slogan ‘The Right of Might’.

Mark Bellomo will be attending NJCC as a special guest, promoting his work on the new book G.I. Joe: The Complete Collection, the full run of original Real American Hero, Special Missions, and Yearbook tales, placed in proper reading order and collected in handsome hardcover volumes.

Mark Bellomo has written more than 150 articles for ToyFare, Wizard Magazine, Lee’s Toy Review, Tomart’s Action Figure Digest, and most recently for Toy Shop Magazine, where he served a lengthy tenure as their Action Figure Columnist. He has written a number of composition/rhetoric texts, has published critical literary articles, and has authored a number of bestselling books on action figures and pop culture: Warman’s Action Figures Field Guide, Transformers: Identification & Price Guide, Warman’s Field Guide to Transformers, The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe: 1982-1994 (1st & 2nd editions), and the recently-released Totally Tubular 80’s Toys. Bellomo contributes three chapters each year to Toys & Prices (2007 2011), and has also been featured in The Collectable Spectacle currently posted on YouTube.
